JUNO

Juno From what our memories hold we remember the icy cold. Rooftops and trees heavy with snow. all we know is that cars were covered 2 feet deep. In our beds we cannot sleep. The howling winds in our dreams we can't ignore their awful screams. With waves 6 feet high and haunting clouds in the sky. We watch and wait We watch and wait. Cole

Wayside Update

We are having a penny drive to raise money for Wayside Soup Kitchen. We are sad that so many people go hungry especially when it is cold. We have been raising money for two weeks. We wanted to let you know that we have raised $272 so far! We hope to raise more.

Snow Day?

We are wondering if we will have a snow day? We are supposed to get a blizzard and a lot of snow. How much snow do you think we will get? What do you like to do on a snow day? Update: We hope you enjoyed your snowday on Tuesday and Wednesday.   The Weather Channel reported that Portland, Maine had 23.8 inches of snow and the storm was the fourth biggest storm in history.

Comic Unit

In WW we are starting a comics unit. Last week we started writing a fiction story. We practiced building a plot, create a character, and describe a setting. Yesterday we looked at comics to see if we could find setting, character, and plots. Today we talked about different colors for moods and played with font. We tried to make the words look like what we were trying to describing so when people looked at the word they knew what it was. Here are some examples: Later on we will use our fiction story and turn it into a comic strip. Henry W, Cole, Charlie D., Ellery, Tobias, Henry H.

Penny Drive

In Linda's theme class, when we were studying the Potato Famine, we learned about how the famine caused people to change the way they lived. We learned that many people left the country because there was no food. Ian, Charlie, and I started talking about people who do not have enough food nowadays and how that was like the people who were starving because of the Potato Famine. We decided we wanted to help people who were hungry.  We talked to Linda about having a Penny Drive so we could help the hungry. There are jars in every homestation if you would like to help. Henry H.
