Genius Hour 2015

We had a lot of fun working on our Genius Hour Projects at the end of the year. Click on the links below to explore student learning. Some links may seem like they are not active but try them anyway. We are working out the kinks.

Our Mystery Trip

Last Friday we went on a mystery trip. The first stop was at a playground but Kai got a “call” and said that we couldn't play there. So we went to the church and we were going to stain glass but Nancy got a “call” that the glass didn't come in time. Then we went to the cemetery and we were suppose to go geocaching but Kai got another “call” and said that we couldn’t. So then we went to to sit under a tree to rest. Then two trolleys came and we took a tour around Portland and Jay and Bob talked about the history of Portland.  We learned that the observatory was to keep an eye for ships coming back to the harbor. When the lookout saw a ship they put the company flag out to tell people the ship was coming back. We also learned that the names of the kids who raised money for the Longfellow statue is in the statue. After seeing the city the trolleys dropped us off at Fort Williams. We swam, played in the field, and we went up to the forts and we had lunch. The teachers also gave us...
