Finish Our Story

The Wrong House By Sasha Eliza and Jack It was Halloween night and the mist was almost too thick to see through. The jack-o-lanterns were glowing on each doorstep. Timmy Thompson was one of the last trick or treaters out in his neighborhood. He had a pillowcase ½ full of candy and he aimed to get more. You see, Timmy Thompson was a very determined child, and if set his mind to something he would do it! And at that moment he had set his mind to getting more candy.  As he walked down the street he spotted the old abandoned mansion, it was said to be haunted but he didn’t believe in ghosts. As he walked closer to the house he noticed an old sign that said, "enter if you dare." Timmy assumed that this was some kind of trick set up by his friends and that there would be candy at the end of the hall. So he slowly tugged open the rickety old doors, not bothering to ring the doorbell, and what a mistake that was. When he tiptoed down the hallway he noticed that some part...

Sharing Technology

Seven Waynflete students were asked to present to the School Board and some parents about technology and how it is being used. The Board wanted to know more about the technology that we use and how it helps us learn. We were two of the presenters along with Violet in Middle School, Julia and Grace in Upper School, and Leah and Luke in Lower School. We presented at SMCC and went in on a Saturday morning. Rosey presented Explain Everything and Jack presented Google Drive. Students also shared Hopscotch, Puppet Pals, and how Upper School kids test ideas and make calculations. When we got there the was a room that was filled with all the Board members. At first we were nervous and then after the first presentation we got more comfortable. We think we did a good job and we hope they had fun and learned something new. We had lots of FUN. Rosey and Jack

Harvest Cooking

A few Wednesdays ago 4-5 did a little cooking cooking. We gathered some things from our school garden and all of the classes cooked something different. Tim's and Linda’s class made tabbouleh and Kai’s and Nancy’s class cooked roasted potatoes. In our class we split up into four groups and got assigned to two ingredients. We worked on lemons and mint, another group worked on tomatoes, another group worked on cilantro, parsley, and basil, and another group worked on two different types of onions. Tim’s class and Nancy’s classed swapped food at the end and we got to try some of both. The food was very good and we all had a great time. by Noa and Jane

4-5 Stewardship

4-5 Students participated in a Community Service Morning at our Fore River Campus. Students picked up trash, weeded the baseball field, and spread mulch as a way to give back to the space that we utilize regularly throughout the school year.
