Full of Power!

This is the iPad cart where we put our iPads at the end of the day to get charged overnight. At the end of the day the “iPad monitor” puts the iPads away in the iPad cart, then locks it with a special code even I don’t know. iPad carts are high-security objects, they last a long time, and, best of all, they keep the iPads charged and ready to use in the morning! ipads in 4-5

WE GOT iPADS!!! This week we got iPads to borrow for the year. OMG they are amazing! Nancy said we needed to change our wallpaper to something involving our name. It was really fun because we got to use the ‘drawing pad’ app to customize it. We also get to bring our iPads to the library when we check out books. I really hope we get a lot of opportunities with these amazing devices. By Ellie S

Music and Chorus

Music and Chorus By Lily and Maddie In music this year we are practicing rhythm and simple songs. We use a slinky to warm up our voices. When Eddie, our teacher pulls the slinky up, our voices go up. If he pulls it down, our voices go down. Every class we play a game like “Let’s put the Rooster in the Stew” and “Fed my Horse in a Poplar Trough”. In chorus, we are learning the  song “This Pretty Planet” in a round. Chorus and and music are very fun!

Card Towers

By William and Noah In Nancy’s homestation we split into small groups and wrote down things that we had in common with all of the group on notecards. Some examples were “we all like sushi” and “we have all been to Boston”. Then we had a challenge. We had to stack them into the tower with the rest of our team. The tallest tower was Tommy, Mac and Lily’s. They managed to make their tower 21 inches high before it collapsed. A lot of people had a good strategy: to fold the cards.

First Full Week Of School

This week is our first full week of school. We are getting to see our classes and having fun. One thing we have seen are all the books! Our new Lower School Library is called the Klingenstein Library. We also have books in our classroom. In Tim's class we are doing a year-long project called DIRT. DIRT stands for Daily Independent Reading Time and we are excited because we get to read a lot. Getting to know the whole new school is fun too. It is great to be back at school because we can see our friends. By Ami and Harper Laurel told us we were the first class ever to be in the Klingenstein Library. WOW!
