Lap Sit

At the beginning of the year we do a lap sit. We stand in a circle then turn to face on direction. We make sure our toes are touching the heels of the person in front of us. Then we all sit on the lap of the person behind us. We all hold each other up. In September we only held it for just 20 seconds. We did it again today and we held it for a minute! We trusted each other more!

Community Breakfast

Today on the last day of school we had a community breakfast. We do it every year on the last day of school. Everyone volunteers to bring in a tasty treat for their homestation to enjoy. A few things we had in Tim’s homestation were: cereal, ciscuits, cinnamon buns and waffles. By far the waffles were probably the most popular item because we got to make our own in a waffle iron. In every homestation the foods were different. The way we decide who is bringing in what is we sit down and discuss some things that we would like to have and then we talk to our parents. It was a nice way to sit and talk about our year together. Jack and Jaden

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

Every year in 4-5 we have a play that we present to all of the Lower School and anyone who would like to come. This year we are going to perform Charlie And The Chocolate Factory which is a story about a boy who finds a golden ticket and then goes to the world's most magical chocolate factory. There are 4 other golden ticket finders: Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde (bor-i-gard) and Mike Teevee. Together they will explore the factory led by the owner, Mr. Willy Wonka. Only one of them will win the big prize, who will it be? We have two performances at Franklin Theater at 10:00AM and 1:00PM. We hope you enjoy it! Jaden and Jack

Restaurant Project

In math class for our last big project we started did a Restaurant Project. We got into groups of four and five.  After that we brainstormed different types of cuisine, like French or Chinese and picked a cuisine.  One of us picked French and one of us picked noodles. We know noodles isn't a type of cuisine so we are just writing about the French restaurant group. After we picked our cuisine we chose dishes like crepes and found recipes. Afterwords we used Hannaford's website to go to find the prices of the ingredients of our dishes. Then we multiplied all of the measurements to find out how much we would need to serve 15 people. We added up the prices of the ingredients to find the total price. Earlier we had a chef come in and talk about her restaurant how she plans for cooking and all the math she uses. We tried to do the same thing.  Even though we had full menus each group picked one dish and made it. Then we served it to the other math classes. We gave them a bil...
