Green Screen Club

The green screen club meets every Friday at second recess. It is where you learn about recording, sharing a story, and special effects. You video record what you want to do and use an app to make the magic happen. You can do things like change the backgrounds. You could change it to a campground or a waterfall to make your video cool and interesting. If you wear the same color green sweatshirt, you can be only a head!!☺️ by Morgan nickname Mo

Nazca Lines

We are studying Peru. In one of our classes we are learning about the Nazca Lines. They are geoglyphs. Geoglyphs are carvings or designs in the land. People in Peru made really cool ones in the desert. Tim asked us to make our own design like the Nazca Lines. We looked at animals in Peru and picked one. Then we made our design to look like the animal. Some drew theirs on big pieces of paper and some people made their designs out of legos and some made them out of buttons. We made them on Minecraft. Here are a few of them. We will put more up when we finish them. Book Trailers and Soundtracks

These are links to our lit group's book soundtracks and book trailers. There were three groups that read different books in Tim's homestation. When we were done reading we split up into groups within our lit groups and made soundtracks and trailers. Book trailers are like movie trailers and they try to show how good the book is. A soundtrack are songs that go with a script so we found songs that go with our books.  Charlie D. and Cole Here are the projects: Dear Levi by Eliza Woodruff Ivy, Keegan, and Iris Dear Levi by Eliza Woodruff Charlie L., Jack, and Jaden The Ballad of Lucy Whipple by Karen Cushman Seth, Tobias, and Eliza Riding Freedom by Pam Muñoz Ryan Cole, and Charlie D. Myths in WW

After Thanksgiving we started to learn about Paul Goble . He was a writer who listened to stories of the Native Americans from the plains. A lot of the stories were about how things came to be. Paul Goble would retell their stories in books and add his own pictures. We read a lot of his stories and we learned how to tell stories with our voices. ( Here is a fun video Nancy and Tim showed us.) Then we wrote our own myths. Some people wrote about how birds got their feathers, why frogs croak, and why there is winter. All of the stories were typed up and then we did a Puppet Pals video where we retold our story like people did in the old days. Most of us finished before vacation. If you come up to 4-5 you can see them all in the hallway but some of them are here. We will add more during the week. Why Does The Bear Have Fur?
