Tales Of A 4-5 Something

Spirit week is very fun. Every day for a week you dress up or do whatever the theme is. We had a committee and they made the plan for us. For spirit week at Waynflete the schedule was, Monday: pajama day Tuesday: dress up as your family member or favorite character day Wednesday: wacky Wednesday Thursday: favorite color day Friday: mythical/ mystical day It was soooooo fun! My favorite day was Monday! PJ day! Spirit week is optional, though I did all of the days even though I did not have a lot of costumes. It was fun making costumes from what I could find at home. I think that maybe you should try this at your home too! By Hailey

As a lot of people know, spring is here! Crocuses have been popping up everywhere! Also, tulips and daffodils have shown themselves. It’s really nice to see some springy things sprin kled into the gardens! They can make people smile everywhere. Flipgrid is an app on our iPads where you get to share a short video with your class. For example, how about a DIY show? You get to take a 2-5 minute DIY video! What is a DIY? Good question! A DIY is a do-it-yourself video and it’s very fun! The best part about Flipgrid is that you can watch other people’s videos. It is only our class that can see the video, a nd our teacher has to approve the video and last…i t is for school so you are also supposed to do school thingr like, r ead our poems to our class which we did for WW or read a part of our book which we did for Lit. I like using Flipgrid. -HJ

Today the results of which MSBA book had won the most votes at Waynflete were announced. Laurel came to our closing meeting to tell us and we were excited! The book was Bob by Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead. Tims homestation read Bob and our overall rating was 5 stars out of 5! We all really enjoyed it. It’s about a girl named Livy who goes to stay with her grandmother who lives in Australia. When Livy gets there she discovers a friendly green zombie looking thing in her closet named Bob. Can she figure out what Bob is and how to get him back home? The story shares their adventures of trying to figure out what Bob is and where his home is. This has been a great week mostly because I was in Pachanga! Me and my friends sang the song Purple stew! It was really fun. The sad thing was that it was the last week of us singing Purple Stew. We are so lucky because we still have Pachanga! Wait a minute… what is Pachanga?!?! Pachanga is a gathering and we sing songs and it is very fun! I am very thankful that we have Pachanga and school  -hj You might want to know what the lyrics are to the song. In our class, Tim had us each make our own DIY video from home. I did mine on how to do a basic dance pirouette! That is for many reasons. I love dance, it is my absolute favorite thing to do. It really helps me if I’ve had a bad day, or something bad is currently going on in the world (coronavirus etc.), I can just put on a song and dance. Genuinely dance. And then everything else around me slowly fades away. I can just really show my emotions through the song choice and my body movements and isolations.  Now let me mention my dance environment. My dance friends are the most supportive and loving friends you could ever have. I’d like to say that my dance friends are my family, and my dance studio is my home away from home! So, I made the DIY pirouette video to be able to show everyone the real gift of dancing. No, it doesn’t stop the problems at school or home. Waynflete is homeschooling and that means that we are at home and I am sitting in my sunroom and typing this up. I like working at home. I especially like having lunch with my family and friends (online). I am so grateful that we have school online. Without school, I would be bored to death. My class in 4-5 has a morning meeting at 8:30 a nd then we have a meeting at 11:30 that is optional so we can check in, and then the last meeting is at 2:30. We get a read aloud at that meeting! HJ
