4-5 Jobs

      Jobs in 4-5
By Shane, Miles, Liam A, and Ian

Introduction
In 4-5 some people think all we do is have fun,we have fun but there are some jobs that we have to get done. The job chart rotates weekly. Everyone takes their turn with the jobs. These are some of the jobs in 4-5
President
Your job as president is to pick 1-2 games to play every week.the second best job is vacation because there is nothing that you have to do and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the week. It is very fun to be the president.

Table washers
Table washers wash the the tables in their home station. Usually one person sprays and one person wipes. You would think that table washers is a yucky job. But right afterwards you are teacher's assistant and then you have nothing to worry about. Also no table washing on Wednesday because it's a half day!

Compost
Compost is the most dirty job in the whole 4-5 it's smelly, it's gross. But it does help feed our garden when it needs nutrition. also you don't have to take it out every day but sometimes people forget to take it out and then it gets moldy and stuff like that. But we need to have some sort of job that isn't fun or else it wouldn't be a job. You have to take the compost out to the green compost bin.

Vacation
If you thought presiding was fun then listen to this. This job is not hard to figure out that it's not even a job, but It's probably everyone's favorite job in the whole entire 4-5. And it's the most fun. You can literally just sit back relax and enjoy watching everybody doing their jobs.

Teachers assistant
When the teacher is gone the teachers assistant will be in charge well not the kind of in charge like telling someone to do push ups the kind of in charge that you keep everyone quiet and behaving. It is fun being teachers assistant because you get to tell people what to do.

Recycling
Recycling is the 3nd easiest job. Some times if the load is big, you can bring someone along to open the bin. If someone leaves a yogurt container that hasn't been washed out, you have to wash it out. Bleh
Pencils
It's a easy job to do and it's fun you literally just sharpen pencils but most of the people in 4-5 just break off the tips so they can sharpen them to be smaller. It's a fun job but if you have to clean the sharpener it's a very dirty job.

iPads
This is a job that takes a lot of focus to do. You have to make sure that you plug in all the iPads and lock the cart! Of course I won't tell you the password. It's not a very hard job but it's not the easy it's one in 2 home stations Kai's and tim’s there is one iPad cart for two homestations so that means double time for whoever has to do that job! Once your done with the week for that job you will keep on thinking that you have to do it for the next few weeks.

White boards
Whiteboards is a fun job where you get to put on these fuzzy gloves and erase everything on the white boards. Sometimes people do the job for you. I'm not pointing any fingers. It is A very fun job and everyone wants to have it.

Mystery Trip - 2025

Every year 4-5 takes a mystery trip. We don't know where we are going and we find out when we get there. Sometimes we go to the beach or a lake. The teachers kick off the conversation with absurd ideas. Sometimes it is an exotic place or a spot that doesn't even exist. This year they told us we were going to a bean factory, (which was knocked down) a farm that had a rare and elusive invisible sheep called cloud sheep, and that we would be working for the Morton Salt Company picking salt off the salt hay on the marsh. The teachers told us that after we help with the beans and salt we would get credit on the labels of the containers and we would get to bring home the wool of the cloud sheep. Last year's kick off was even more absurd. They told us we were going to a donut farm to plant donut seeds which were cheerios, go to have tea with the late Queen in England, go on a treasure hunt, and visit the cheese museum. After telling us where we were going the teachers gave us a pa...

Self Portraits

A few weeks ago, we started creating self portraits. We learned about Romero Britto and his style , which includes patterns, bold lines, bright colors and simple designs. We all added food into our Romero Britto-inspired self-portraits because we are telling people about ourselves and our favorite foods. We are doing a study called Local Foods and we are adding foods, sometimes in repetitive patterns, to our portraits. We hung the portraits in our classroom and now we can see the similarities and differences in our class. By showing our favorite foods others can relate and connect to us. We assembled the foods into bright patterns and divided the sections with thick black lines like Romero Britto. We also hid other things we like into our self portraits. We put as much detail as we could into the pieces to show our identities. After we finished them, we mounted them on black paper and hung them on the wall. We hope you like them.  This is our first blog post of the year and we work...

Grandparents And Friends

We are Kat and Suzy! We are going to be bringing you this information about Grandparents and Friends Day!!!!! On May 2, 2025 at 8:47 our Grand Friends came to Waynflete. We go to share what we are doing in school like RQs, which stands for research quest. That is a research project where we read, take notes, and write an essay. But that's not our focus of this blog so we will get back to Grandparents and Friends Day. We did some writing together, shared some math, and gave tours of our classroom. Our grandparents and friends were happy to see us and they said school was different for us than it was for them. We also had Pachanga with our grand friends. We all sang songs together like when people from Nancy's home station went up and showed everyone the motions to peace like a river in sign language! And that's a wrap! by Kat and Suzy
