Pachanga is a Spanish word for party and joyful gathering.
I'll start out with a question, what is Pachanga? Well, pachanga is a time for the lower school (E.C to 5th grade) to join together and sing community songs and some times the ECers make mini songs. For example : “I'm gonna eat my kale with chicken.” There are also musicians that play instruments to the songs. And sometimes we sit with our buddies which are kindergarteners and 1st graders.
What do we do? They start off with an opening song and after that song the 4-5 announcers say what songs we are singing today for instance: “Father Painted The Parlor” and “Waltzing with Bears.” The announcers also announce any birthdays around the week (and Weekends). EVeryone in 4-5 gets a chance to announce in one year, the people are chosen randomly. For instance: If Vivian and Duncan are in the same homestation their teacher would probably pick them because Vivian is a 5th grade girl and Duncan is a 4th grade boy.
And that is Panchanga for you. Stay tuned for the next blog post by: Vivian and Olivia!
